Local shops & retailers

Visit-based loyalty for independent shops.

A local shop can reward repeat custom without starting with a complex points catalogue. Rituro’s current model tracks accepted visits toward a chosen reward. It is worth considering when a simple visit rule fits your shop; it is a different requirement from automatically calculating points on every item sold.

Reward ideas for local shops & retailers

Start with a benefit customers can understand, then check the cost and practical conditions for supplying it.

A selected product

Offer a named item or a tightly defined range, with an alternative if it is out of stock. Choose a reward the shop can supply reliably rather than promising an unrestricted item from a mixed-price catalogue.

A service your shop already provides

Where appropriate, a defined service such as a specified gift-wrapping option can be a reward. Explain its scope and when it can be used. An earned benefit is not automatically a cash balance or gift card.

Fit loyalty into the customer journey

  1. Explain what makes a purchase eligible and display the joining QR where it fits the checkout process.
  2. Validate the accepted visit under that rule. Without a POS integration, Rituro does not automatically receive basket values or receipt items.
  3. Supply the defined reward after checking the customer’s card, then confirm redemption through authorised staff.

Choose visits only when the offer fits mixed baskets

A shop with very different purchase values should decide whether equal visit progress makes sense. If you use a minimum purchase rule, staff need a consistent way to verify it; do not assume Rituro reads the receipt automatically.

If the business needs points per currency unit, product-level exclusions calculated by the till or balances shared with an online store, identify those as integration requirements. Rituro’s current release focuses on accepted visits and does not provide a spend-based points engine.

Agree on returns and reward handling before launch

A returned purchase can affect an offer that was based on that purchase. Write down how the shop resolves the loyalty record and any already-issued reward, then confirm the available staff correction process. Rituro does not automatically import refunds from your payment system.

Also explain whether an earned reward can be exchanged, combined with other offers or supplied as an alternative product. Train the team on those decisions and keep a record of exceptions. A short trial can reveal confusing rules before they become part of every checkout conversation.

Common questions

Is Rituro a points-based retail loyalty platform?

The current release is visit-based. An accepted visit adds progress toward a selected reward. It does not calculate points from transaction spend or individual products.

Can customers use the same card online and in store?

The web card displays loyalty progress, but that does not mean it integrates with an ecommerce checkout. Confirm any cross-channel earning or redemption requirement before promising it to customers.
